Bridgeport is famously known as the “Park City” and the historic home of the legendary showman P.T. Barnum. But for our client, Pond, the only circus happening in town was the daily acrobatic routine required to safely step over the high walls of an outdated bathtub.
Living in Connecticut means dealing with the biting, bone-chilling winds off Long Island Sound every winter. When you come inside, you want a warm, luxurious shower—not a precarious dance with a clinging shower curtain and a plastic corner caddy fighting for its life. That’s where We Improve For You stepped in. We traded Pond’s high-wire bathtub act for a spectacular, ground-level masterpiece.
Here is the breakdown of how we brought this Westfield Avenue bathroom out of the past and into the present.
📉 The Challenge: A Tub Stuck in Time
Take a look at the “Before” photos, and you’ll see a bathroom that was desperately pleading for an intervention.
- The Hurdle: The old bathtub featured a steep step-in height that turned a relaxing morning routine into an unwanted agility drill.
- The Vibe: The stark white square tiles and floral wallpaper border gave the space the distinct charm of a 1990s motel.
- The Storage: A flimsy, suction-cup-style plastic corner shelf was valiantly trying (and failing) to hold family-sized bottles of shampoo.
- The Barrier: A beige fabric shower curtain that made the space feel cramped and shut off from the rest of the room.
Pond needed a space that was safe, accessible, and actually enjoyable to use, especially on those frosty New England mornings.
🛠️ The Solution: The “We Improve For You” Magic
We ripped out the old, restrictive tub and completely reimagined the footprint, executing a flawless tub-to-shower conversion.
- Accessible Elegance: We installed a low-threshold, walk-in shower pan, completely eliminating the dangerous morning step-over.
- The BRECCHIA Upgrade: We said goodbye to the clinical white tiles and installed stunning, floor-to-ceiling BRECCHIA wall surrounds. The warm, marble-like veining instantly elevated the room from “basic” to “boutique hotel.”
- Plumbing & Hardware (Shower Left): Utilizing a Shower Left configuration to align with the existing plumbing, we installed a state-of-the-art dual showerhead system (featuring both a fixed head and a versatile handheld wand).
- Built-in Convenience: We trashed the plastic caddy and integrated custom, color-matching Breccia corner shelves, plus a sturdy built-in bench seat for maximum comfort.
- Sleek Safety: We strategically mounted high-quality, polished chrome grab bars. They provide crucial stability without making the shower look like a hospital ward.
- Crystal Clear: We finished the look with thick, premium sliding glass doors, opening up the visual space of the bathroom and letting the light shine through.
✨ The Outcome: A Showstopping Success
The “After” photos speak for themselves. Pond’s bathroom went from a cramped, outdated liability to a spacious, modern oasis.
The seamless BRECCHIA walls are incredibly easy to clean—meaning no more scrubbing grout lines with a toothbrush—and the new glass doors make the entire bathroom feel twice as large. Between the built-in seating, the targeted dual showerheads, and the rock-solid safety bars, Pond can now enjoy a luxurious, worry-free shower.
It’s a transformation so spectacular, even P.T. Barnum would have to admit it’s the greatest shower on earth.
