From Litchfield Lagging to Litchfield Luxury: The Apiado Family’s Torrington Bathroom Makeover
Living in Torrington means you get to enjoy the absolute best of the Litchfield Hills. Whether you’re catching a spectacular show at the historic Warner Theatre, hiking the scenic trails around Burr Pond, or simply bracing yourself for another classic, snow-globe-style New England winter, life up here is beautifully rugged. But when you come home from braving a frosty Litchfield County evening, your bathroom should be a warm, welcoming sanctuary—not a dreary room that makes you shiver just looking at it.
For the Apiado family, their daily bathroom routine was missing that star quality. They needed an upgrade that brought modern elegance and effortless maintenance right into their home.
The Challenge: A Dreary Daily Routine
Take a glance at the “Before” photos. The Apiado family’s original bathroom had served its purpose, but it was showing its age. The old tub and standard wall surround felt tired, cramped, and entirely uninspiring. Instead of feeling like a VIP getting ready for a night out in downtown Torrington, using the space felt more like an opening act you couldn’t wait to skip. The grout lines required constant scrubbing, and the overall vibe was dim and dated. It was time for a major curtain call.
The Solution: The “Gray Line” Glamour
The Apiados called in the pros at We Improve For You, and we knew exactly how to give this space the blockbuster premiere it deserved. We ripped out the old, gloomy fixtures and gave the room a complete, top-to-bottom refresh.
Here is how we completely flipped the script:
- A Brand-New Soaking Station: We installed a gleaming, brilliant-white new tub on the right side of the layout. It’s deep, durable, and the perfect place to thaw out after shoveling a foot of Connecticut snow off the driveway.
- Gorgeous “Gray Line” Walls: We ditched the high-maintenance tile and installed our stunning, floor-to-ceiling Gray Line wall surrounds. The sophisticated, subtle gray patterning adds instant modern luxury while remaining completely non-porous—meaning the Apiados can officially retire their grout scrub brushes!
- Sleek Hardware & Fixtures: We outfitted the new tub with sparkling, premium chrome fixtures, including a modern showerhead and a smooth-operating valve, tying the whole high-end look together perfectly.
The Outcome: A Litchfield Hills Oasis
Just look at those “After” shots! The transformation is a total showstopper. What used to be a dark, dated hurdle is now a bright, pristine, and ultra-modern retreat. The sleek Gray Line surround reflects the light, making the entire bathroom feel expansive and incredibly clean.
Now, whether they are rinsing off the humidity of a sticky August afternoon or enjoying a hot soak after a freezing Torrington winter storm, the Apiado family has a gorgeous, resort-worthy sanctuary right down the hall.
